Most highlights are on a roughly north-south line (or vice versa) between Tehran, Esfahan and Shiraz – with Yazd as a detour; flying into Tehran and out of Shiraz is a popular option. Persepolis is an easy daytrip from Shiraz. There are thirteen World Heritage Sitesin Iran.
